A driver of a vehicle avoided injuries when his car caught fire Wednesday night in Columbia, according to news reports.
The car fire occurred around 7:23 p.m. when it was parked in Five Points near the Men's Warehouse on Harden Street, according to news reports.
It is unclear what caused the car fire, but the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames by the time fire crews with the Columbia-Richland Fire Service arrived. Fire crews were able to extinguish the vehicle fire in about 10 minutes, according to the interim Fire Chief.
The car owner was at a nearby bar when the fire started. Thankfully, no one was injured in the vehicle fire.
It is unclear how the vehicle fire started. The fire department will likely not investigate the cause.
