Police believe they have found the driver who hit a man on a moped Tuesday night then fled the scene, according to news reports .
The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrested a 34-year-old man Thursday night and "charged with failure to yield the right of way, driving without insurance and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in great bodily injury," according to news reports.
The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 25 at Pecan Drive two miles south of Greenville. Police believe the man in his midsized, gray-colored car hit a 26-year-old driver on a moped, causing severe injuries, including spinal injuries and several broken bones.
The hit-and-run driver is now currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center on $50,000 bond, according to news reports.
