Irons sold at Bed, Bath and Beyond are being recalled because they have the potential to overheat and catch fire, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to the CPSC, Sunbeam Products Inc. is recalling the Convertible Clothes Irons because of a faulty wiring system, which can cause the irons to overheat and burn consumers.
Seven people have already reported incidents of the iron overheating. Three incidents have reported fires as a result of the faulty product.
Consumers who think they may have this recalled product can check the model number: GCSBRS - 103, which can be found on the bottom of the plastic base. You can also check the Date code imprinted on the blade of the plug and bottom of the packaging with the numbers C235 or C237. The irons are a blue and grey color. It also works as a steamer.
The product was sold at Bed Bath & Beyond Stores nationwide on June 2010 to November 2010 at a price of $60.
