Who put the dairy in the dairy-free cookies? Dairy-free bakery Liz Lovely, Inc. says it got there through the chocolate provided by a third-party manufacturer. The result of this mix-up has resulted in a recall for the company.
Liz Lovely is recalling cookie products with chocolate or chocolate chips with undeclared dairy present in the chocolate which was purchased from a third-party chocolate manufacturer, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

As a North Charleston personal injury lawyer, I suggest consumers pay close attention to this recall. Those who have allergies to milk have the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume undeclared dairy affected products, such as the cookies.
Already, there has been one allergic reaction to dairy reported for the cookie recalled. Consumers who purchased the cookies shipped between October 4, 2010 and November 15, 2010 are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
