David Johnston came to Charleston in 1996, married here, and become proud father of what he describes as “my two amazing miracles,” daughter, Chaeli, age 5, and son, David, age 4. In 1991, David graduated from the law school at Campbell University, where he was the Court of Appeals Editor for the Campbell Law Observer and a Moot Court finalist. After law school, David gained significant experience in Personal Injury, Workman’s Compensation, Social Security and Estate Planning, working for top Carolina firms in those fields.
In 2004, David was asked to travel to Baghdad, Iraq to work as an advisor to a number of private security providers including British-owned Sabre International Security, American Iraqi Solutions Groups and Special Operations Consultant (SOC) Security. David was instrumental in SOC’s stand-up of a 1500 man guard force that protected the perimeter of Victory Base Complex in Baghdad. The base was home to Generals Petraeus, Odierno, and a host of top brass commanding our military efforts there. David remains proud to have worked with “the finest men and women I ever had the privilege to know.”
When our country’s involvement in Iraq wound down, David returned to South Carolina where he joined the Sink Firm to help in personal injury and worker’s compensation. David resides in beautiful Summerville and enjoys riding his 1977 BMW motorcycle and spending time with his kids.
