In a press release , the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with the Manhattan Group, LLC, announced the voluntary recall of the Twirlla Wooden Rattle because the product’s U-shaped parts can potentially break off and pose a choking hazard to young children.
This recall affects roughly 3,300 units of this rattle in the United States and was sold nationwide in baby, gift and specialty stores and online between March and July of this year. The painted wooden rattle is around 6-inches long and features a yellow ball at each end. The aforementioned U-shaped pieces that pose the problem are towards the middle of the rattle. There is an orange ball in the center and all the pieces are held together with a green center post.
The CPSC and the Manhattan Group are urging consumers to immediately take the rattle away from children and return the defective item to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
According to the CPSC, no illnesses or injuries have been reported in association with this recall.
As a Florence personal injury lawyer , I’ve seen recalls similar to this in the past and know the dangers they pose to children. If you’re child has been injured through the use of a defective children’s product, it may be in your best interests to speak with an experienced personal injury lawyer after first seeking immediate medical attention.
