A woman escaped serious injures Sunday after she floated off Hilton Head Island for five hours on a raft, according to news reports .

The woman was reportedly floating in the water off Hilton Head when she was quickly pulled far out to sea by the tide, according to news reports. She floated adrift for nearly five hours when a passing boater spotted the woman on the raft.

The boater was able to tow the woman close enough to shore for rescuers to help, according to news reports.

She sustained minor injuries, including dehydration and sunburns. She was treated at a medical station and then released.

It is unclear if the woman was wearing a life jacket.
