One woman was injured in a car accident Thursday on S.C. 252 near Honea Path, according to news reports .
The single-vehicle accident occurred when the 55-year-old woman of Horena Path was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla eastbound on S.C. 252. As she was driving, she reportedly lost control of her vehicle and ran off the left side of the roadway. She then overcorrected to the right and ran off the road again, crashing into a sweet gum tree, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Emergency workers had to cut the roof off of the Corolla and use an extration tool to get the woman out, according to news reports. She was transported to AnMed Health Medical Center with injuries including a “good knot of her head.” She was treated and released from the hospital Thursday night.
It is unclear what exactly caused the woman to crash. The accident is being investigated.
