One person was injured when a local television station vehicle crashed Monday afternoon, according to news reports .
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. on Interstate 85 near Highway 290.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the news company’s SUV was traveling north on I-85 when a spare tire fell off a pickup truck also traveling north. He said the driver of the SUV swerved to miss the object, hit the median and flipped his vehicle.
The driver of the SUV was seriously injured in the crash. He was flown to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment where he is reportedly listed in serious condition.
No one will be charged for the collision, according to investigators.
