Even though no one is using their thermostat during this hot summer, consumers need to be aware of a safety risk one recalled thermostat could cause, according to news reports .
Approximately 77,000 electric baseboard and fan heater thermostats were recalled due to a hazard that may be experienced while using the product.
The recalled items may overheat, causing melting and smoking. This may cause a burn hazard.
So far, 16 reports have been received concerning melting thermostats, none of which resulted in an injury. 16 reports of melting were received by Honeywell.
The device was made in Singapore. Customers are urged to discontinue use of the thermostats immediately through turning them off or changing them to 45 degrees.
As a Greenville personal injury lawyer , I urge consumers to contact Honeywell for a free replacement as soon as possible. I hope that nobody is adversely affected by this product.
While we don’t handle this kind of recall we feel that it’s important to educate the community to help protect their health and safety. If you have been injured by a recalled product, you might wish to contact a Greenville personal injury lawyer who can help.
