A tractor-trailer crashed early Tuesday morning on Interstate 26 near the S.C. 210 exit, according to news reports.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. Tuesday when a portion of the semi truck overturned in the median. The truck’s cab remained upright, while the trailer rolled over, according to news reports.
No reported injuries occurred as a result of the collision, according to news reports.
Witnesses at the scene, however, said they smelled fumes after the crash. Authorities examined the tractor cab to ensure there was not a fuel leak.
A tow truck had to work to remove the wrecked tractor-trailer rig, according to news reports. One lane of the highway had to be closed while the accident was cleared.
It is unclear what caused the trailer to wreck. It is also unclear if any charges will be filed for the collision.
