An 18-year-old female collided her car when it was about to go up in flames. After cars approached then drove away, one neighbor came out to rescue the driver. State Patrol gave him the Highway Patrol Hero award for saving her life. The award is given to those who go above and beyond, often putting their own life in danger to save another’s. The hero recently corresponded with the victim, checking on her recovery progress. “She told me she’s recovered and she’s doing good,” he said. Police said they do not encourage others to risk their lives to save others, but that decision is a personal one. According to news reports , other heroes were awarded by police, one in particular rescued an officer in March.
As a Florence personal injury lawyer , I am glad to see that police are awarding good Samaritans who help save the lives of others. If you or a loved one were harmed in an auto accident caused by negligence, discuss your case with a personal injury attorney who can evaluate your case, protect your rights, and answer any other questions you may have regarding you claim. When you have an attorney on your side, you are more likely to get the results you deserve for your case. An attorney can guide you through the legal processes associated with your case and complete necessary paperwork.
