A multi-vehicle accident blocked traffic along Highway 501 in Horry County Friday afternoon, according to news reports .
Two accident contributed to the several vehicle crashes that forced northbound lanes of Hwy 501 to be shut down temporarily, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The first incident occurred around 1 p.m. near Waccamaw Pines Drive. The second collision occurred about forty-five minutes later when a truck and motorcycle collided in front of Sparks Toyota snarled traffic again.
It is unclear if anyone was injured in the collision. The accidents are being investigated, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
