Martha Stewart cooking pans are being recalled because they could cause lacerations or burns, according to news reports .
Macy’s Inc. said it is recalling about 960,000 Martha Stewart Collection enamel cast-iron casserole pans. The pans have the potential to cause lacerations or burns, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
So far,Macy’s has received two reports of the enamel coating cracking and flying off during use. No injuries have been reported according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Included in the recall is:
The 7-quart, 5.5-quart and 2.75-quart sizes in a range of colors. The casseroles, which were made in China, were sold at Macy’s and Marine, Naval, and Army and Air Force exchange-service locations from June 2007 to June 2011 for between $25 and $170.
As a Beaufort personal injury attorney , I urge consumers to stop using this product to protect themselves from potentially serious injuries. The commission said consumers should stop using the casseroles immediately and return them to Macy’s for a refund.
While we don’t handle this kind of recall we feel that it’s important to educate the community to help protect their health and safety. If you have been injured by a recalled product, you might wish to contact a Beaufort personal injury lawyer who can help.
