In a press release , the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in conjunction with Camsing Global LLC, announced the recall of about 10,000 units of their LED nightlights.
This recall was initiated when it was discovered that the nightlights have the potential to overheat, smolder and melt in a way that may result in minor burns to consumers. The LED lights contain flame retardant materials, plug into electrical outlets and have a white or blue LED blub with a clear bulb cover. These items can be identified by “Model SBD01”, “E314462” and “Made in China” stamped on the bottom of the product. This product was distributed by various companies that use them as free promotional products between December 2010 and March 2011.
Camsing Global LLC has received five reports of the lights overheating, smoldering or melting, however, no related injuries were reported. The company and CPSC are recommending that consumer stop using the nightlights immediately and properly dispose of them. Consumers should also be aware that it is illegal to resell or attempt to resell any recalled consumer product.
As a Florence personal injury lawyer , I’ve seen recalls of this nature in the past. In my time as a personal injury lawyer , I’ve seen the damage recalled items similar to this have caused and I pray that no one is injured before they can all be disposed of properly.
