Busses and sedans were recalled during the weekend, according to news reports.
Included in the recall were about 8,400 Volvo S80 sedans. The vehicles were recalled because of a possible steering issue, caused by a power-steering fluid leak. The steering fluid leak may result in a loss of power assist. An incorrectly routed hose is to blame for the issue, according to news reports ,
No accidents have been attributed to the problem. Volvo stated the recall is a voluntary precaution, and they were required to inform the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration of the recall plans.
Approximately 340 buses are also being recalled because they were not build using “floor channel reinforcements” which are required to anchor seat to the floor. Busses 2011-12 CE and RE models are included in the recall.
As a Charleston personal injury lawyer , I’m saddened to hear about these recalls. I urge consumers always pay attention to my car recall website and other recall announcements to be sure their vehicles are safe.
