Medical equipment by Johnson and Johnson is being recalled because of faulty packaging that could contaminate the device, according to news reports .
According to Johnson and Johnson, nearly 360,000 products used for draining surgical wounds are being recalled. The product’s packaging could be compromised, making them unsterile for surgery.
Johnson and Johnson’s Ethicon unit, which makes the recalled Blake Silicone Drains, J-VAC reservoirs and other recalled products, said no injuries have been reported in connection to the recall thus far.
Consumers who may have been in contact with the recalled product would have been in a surgical situation. If you believe you have used this recalled product you should call a doctor and stop using the product. Johnson and Johnson will issue replacement products for free of charge, according to news reports.
