I 95 reopens after storm, hundreds of south carolina roads and bridges remain closed.
Good news! I-95 has reopened after being closed down by rain, flooding and the storm. I-95 southbound opened yesterday and officials announced that the northbound side of I-95 reopened early this morning.
A 16 mile stretch of Interstate 95 was closed near Columbia and Lexington for more than a week. Drivers going between I-25 and I-20 were forced to take a 170 mile detour through Columbia, instead of using I-95. This especially affected commercial big rig trucks, like Mack Trucks.
Hundreds of roads and bridges remain closed. Please check here for a list of roads which are closed.
