George Sink, P.A. Injury Lawyers wishes everyone a Happy Fourth of July!
To help you and your loved one stay safe this Fourth of July, we’ve provided a few helpful tips:
- Fireworks Safety – While it is recommended that you attend a licensed fireworks show put on by professionals, we know that many South Carolinians choose to celebrate the 4 th with fireworks of their own. If you plan on using fireworks be sure that they are safe and comply with your local laws. You should also make sure to follow instructions, keep spectators at a safe distance, and supervise children. Never light fireworks indoors or in locations where they may endanger nearby people or property.
- Water Safety – Pool parties are common during Fourth of July, and it is important to make sure everyone is safe when enjoying the water. Make sure children are supervised and that everyone knows how to swim. It is also important to watch out for diving into shallow water, horseplay that gets out of hand, and running near pools. Have a plan in case of emergencies, and make sure you know how to react.
- BBQ Safety – Grilling is a tradition for many during the holiday weekend, and it should always be done safely. Always use caution when handling propane and charcoal grills, never use grills indoors, and use lighter fluid safely. Surpervise the grill whenever it is in use.
- Responsible Drinking – If you plan on drinking this holiday weekend, please do so responsibly. Statistically, the Fourth of July weekend sees an increase in alcohol-related accidents and injuries, including drunk driving accidents. Drink in moderation and if you plan on driving home, designate a sober driver or find a ride.
With these few tips, you and your loved ones can enjoy a fun and safe Fourth of July weekend. Our South Carolina personal injury lawyers hope that no one is hurt this weekend, but are always available to help victims and families in need.
