Four people were injured in a car accident on Interstate 77 near Sissonville on Wednesday, according to news reports .
The accident occurred around 3 p.m. Wednesday when a driver heading south on I-77 through Kanawha Valley reportedly lost control of his vehicle. He crashed through a median on the interstate and then struck another vehicle head-on.
It is unclear how the accident occurred, but South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators said four people sustained injuries in the crash. Both drivers as well as two passengers were injured.
South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the collision. Factors including distracted driving and driving under the influence have not been ruled out.
