Ford is recalling thousands of trucks because of a faulty switch that can cause the break lights to end, according to news reports .
The recall affects certain 2004 through 2011 Ranger pickups, 2002 through 2005 Excursion SUVs, and 2002 through 2007 F-250, 350, 450 and 550 trucks, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Approximately 20,450 trucks in the U.S. are affected, plus Ford is recalling more than 6,000 of the switches that were sent to dealers as replacement parts.
So far, no car accidents or personal injuries have occurred as a result of the recall.
