Approximately 363,000 F-150 pickups are being recalled because of a problem with the door handle, according to news reports.
Ford Motor Company said it is recalling 2009 to 2010 model F-150 pickup trucks that were manufactured from January 2008 to November 2009, according to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The recall was put into effect to fix the truck’s door handle spring, which could fail and cause the latch to open.
Of the 363,000 vehicles, the recall affects about 68,000 trucks in Canada, an estimated 280,946 F-150 in the United States and 14,000 pickups from Mexico, according to the report.
“F-150 vehicle is Ford’s main model of its F-series pickup trucks, which has been considered to be one of the best-selling automobile for 34 years in the U.S. car trade and industry,” according to news reports.
As a North Charleston personal injury attorney , I’m glad Ford was able to catch this recall before any injuries occurred. Consumers affected by this recall can bring their F-150 pickup trucks to dealerships to get the problem fixed. I urge consumers to fix this problem as soon as possible to prevent the door swinging open by accident, possibly causing personal injuries.
