Ford initially recalled F-150s in February at the request of the government auto safety regulator, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which asked Ford Motor Co. to recall 1.3 million trucks.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it has “received reports of 98 injuries due to unintentional air-bag deployments. Most of the accidents occurred when the trucks were started,” according to news reports.
Included in the recall are F-150 pickups produced between November 2004 and June 2005 at Ford’s Norfolk, Va., assembly plant, including 140,000 trucks in the U.S. and 9,000 in Canada.
