A man was charged Thursday in connection to a van accident that seriously injured a child in James Island, according to news reports.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s officer, a Summerville man is being charged in connection to a vehicle collision involving a four-year-old who was hit by a van outside his home. Officers said the incident occurred Wednesday in James Island when the child was playing in front of his home on Robert E Lee Boulevard. The child sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision and was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina.
The driver is being charged with speeding and a seatbelt violation, according to the news reports.
