Around 13,000 ThinkCentre Desktop Computers were recalled for a defect which can lead to overheating and potentially a fire. The recall was announced today by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. There had been one report of overheating and one of the computer smoking, neither of which resulted in a serious fire. The product has a PC integrated with the moniter, and the power supplies are also within the monitor. Certain serial numbers are included in the recall, and they can be found on the Lenovo computer. They were manufactured in Mexico and sold in stores across the country between May 2010 and March 2012 for approximately $500 each. Customers are urged to have their computer fixed immediately by the company, according to news reports . The company will complete the fixes free of charge. They should also contact the company if they have any concerns about the recalled product.
As a Germantown personal injury attorney , my thoughts are with those involved in this recall. If you or someone dear to you was harmed by a recalled product, discuss your claim with a personal injury lawyer who can evaluate your case and help protect your rights.
