One man was seriously injured in a car accident in Columbia that will close a street for possibly nine hours, according to news reports .
The car accident occurred Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle travelling away from Columbia on Gervais Street toward Bull Street struck a utility pole, according to news reports.
It is unclear what caused the driver to crash into the utility pole. The driver was injured in the collision, although the South Carolina Highway Patrol said they didn’t believe the injuries were life-threatening.
South Carolina Electric and Gas have responded to the scene and are working to repair the fallen utility pole. The collision blocked the 1500 block Gervais Street, which will be closed for possibly the next nine hours, until around midnight.
The accident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
As a Moncks Corner car accident attorney , I hope that the driver was not seriously injured in this vehicle crash. I hope investigators can determine how this collision occurred so an accident like this can be prevented in the future.
