The car accident occurred Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle travelling away from Columbia on Gervais Street toward Bull Street struck a utility pole, according to news reports.
It is unclear what caused the driver to crash into the utility pole. The driver was injured in the collision, although the South Carolina Highway Patrol said they didn’t believe the injuries were life-threatening.
