Chrysler Group LLC is recalling more than 250,000 Chrysler vehicles to address a faulty engine problem, according to news reports.
Chrysler said the recall affects 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country minivans and 2010 Dodge Journey crossovers. The vehicles reportedly have a faulty ignition key that could move while driving and cause the engine to shut off, potentially causing a car accident, according to news reports.
So far, there have already been 32 customer complaints related to engine stalls, including two incidents of rear-end crashes. It is unclear if any injuries were reported in connection to the accidents.
The recalled vehicles were built between August 2009 and June 2010, according to news reports.
As a Columbia personal injury lawyer , I urge consumers who may have these recalled vehicles to try to get the issue fixed as soon as possible. Chrysler said it will begin notifying owners of the recall, which is expected to begin in April. Chrysler needs to address these issues as soon as possible to ensure no more car accidents occur from the stalled vehicles.
