A car accident on I-26 in Richland County caused a difficult commute for rush hour drivers Wednesday morning.
The car accident occurred around 7:15 a.m. near mile marker 97 on Interstate 26 westbound, near the Broad River Road exit and the Peak exit, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol website. Details of the car accident are unknown, but a Department of Transportation camera showed emergency vehicles in the median of the interstate and backed up traffic, according to news reports .
