Nearly 500,000 bikers were at Grand Strand for the Memorial Day Bike Fest, according to news reports.
During the weekend rally, more than 170 officers helped to patrol the Grand Strand. That number includes officers from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, North Myrtle Beach Public Safety Department and the South Carolina National Guard, according to news reports.
“When WMBF News asked the police chief where the hot spots were for this year’s Memorial Day Bike Fest, Lewis said he was surprised to see more bikers trickling down into Myrtle Beach, rather than staying centered on the North Strand. He says that’s something he wants to change for next year,” according to news reports.
As a Greenville car accident attorney , I’m glad to hear that no accidents were reported during the bike convention. I urge riders to always follow the rules of the road and pay attention while driving. I hope the event brought more awareness to bikers and the necessity of safety for motorcycle riders.
