Unfortunately, sometimes bicyclists and drivers have a hard time sharing the roadway. Now, after one bicyclist was involved in two collisions with vehicles during a two-day span, he is fighting back, according to news reports .
The view from the helmet camera of a bicyclist shows a van side swiping the biker on a South Carolina road.
The van’s brush against the cyclist is just the first of two crashes (the biker) was involved in on his bike in a two day span. Deputies were able to track down the van after (the biker) yelled out the tag information.
The second crash happened two days later when a car turned into the biker in Newberry County.
The first crash is still under investigation, but the highway patrol charged a Newberry teen in the second crash with hit and run, and driving without insurance.
As a Sumter personal injury lawyer , I’m saddened to hear about these bicycle accidents. I’m glad this man was not seriously injured in these collisions on his bike. I hope investigators can work to make roadways safer for bicyclists.
