Backpacks with a built in blower used to clear out leaves on sidewalks are being recalled because of a fire risk, according to news reports.
Nearly 3,500 Kawasaki Motor Corp. gas-powered backpack blowers are being recalled, according to Consumer Affairs. The backpacks have a faulty gas tank that can split and leak fuel, posing a fire hazard.
The recalled backpack blowers have a white, translucent fuel tank and model and serial numbers are printed on the product’s blower housing. “The backpacks were sold by Authorized service dealers nationwide from August 2008 through February 2011 for between $420 and $490,” according to news reports.
