In a news release Wednesday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Aulick Manufacturing, Inc. is recalling certain Aultimate agricultural trailers due to an issue with the rear bumper that may pose a safety risk in a collision.
Subject to recall are 642 Aultimate agricultural trailers manufactured from February 5, 2004 through July 1, 2011. The rear bumper on the recalled trailers does not comply with federal safety standards, posing a risk of a passenger vehicle’s bumper traveling under the trailer’s rear bumper in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to anyone traveling in the passenger vehicle.
Aulick will replace the rear bumper on the recalled trailers, with one that meets safety standards. The recall is expected to begin this month.
As a Sumter auto accident lawyer , motorist safety is something that I am very aware of. I encourage owners of the recalled agricultural trailers to arrange for the needed repairs as soon as possible. Because of my experience as a Sumter personal injury attorney , I know that the effects of a faulty product can range from inconvenience and frustration to injury and sometimes death. I hope that no one has been harmed as a result of the noncompliant bumpers.
