Pogo sticks are being recalled across the country because of their risk to cause serious injuries to kids hopping about on the toys, according to news reports .
Nearly 17,000 Bravo Sports pogo sticks are being recalled, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Already, more than 120 injuries from the recalled pogo sticks have been reported. Injuries range from a chipped tooth, to facial lacerations, to an inner thigh injury, according to news reports.
According to the CPSC, the pogo stick’s design could be faulty, causing the injuries. Reportedly, the aluminum rivets can break, releasing the spring and causing the user to fall.
As a Greenville personal injury lawyer , I urge parents to check their children’s toys for this hazardous item. If you own the recalled pogo stick, you can return them to Sports Authority stores or the retailer of purchase. I advise parents to not let their children play with this toy because it could cause serious personal injuries. I’m saddened to hear that so many children have already been injured by this toy.
