Sylvia decided to pursue a legal career at a young age, inspired by the OJ Simpson trial in the 4th grade, which highlighted the significant roles women can play in the legal field. This early inspiration set the foundation for a successful legal career.

Over the course of six years, Sylvia made significant strides in helping those injured during the cleanup of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. This experience has honed her skills and deepened her commitment to fighting for justice.

Outside the courtroom, Sylvia enjoys a vibrant personal life. She has a 15-year-old son who is just starting to drive, and together they are roller coaster and theme park enthusiasts, frequently visiting Florida parks. At home, Sylvia enjoys the company of two lively Australian shepherds, Lucy and Ethel. Additionally, she is an avid Jeopardy! fan, always ready for a challenge.
