Since 2011, Mr. Reed has zealously represented clients who have been injured in accidents through no fault of their own and has worked tirelessly to obtain the best possible results for the people he represents. Prior to joining George Sink Injury Lawyers, Mr. Reed served as the managing partner of a successful personal injury practice for over a decade. Mr. Reed has tried numerous trials before a jury and countless others before a judge. In 2020, Mr. Reed was privileged to obtain one of the top ten largest settlements in Virginia for that year in a medical malpractice matter. He has also successfully argued appeals before the Supreme Court of Virginia and the Virginia Court of Appeals.
Before opening his own practice, Mr. Reed served as an associate at a large, nationally recognized, insurance defense law firm for approximately seven years. During this time, he represented a wide range of clients including major retailers, insurance companies, construction contractors, and automobile manufacturers. In this capacity, he served as defense counsel for most of the major insurance carriers in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. He now uses that knowledge and expertise to defend the rights of injured clients. Due to the breadth of his experience, Mr. Reed has been invited to teach several continuing legal education seminars related to the practice of personal injury and workers’ compensation law.
Mr. Reed earned his JD from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law in 2003. During his time at Dickinson, Mr. Reed was privileged to serve on the Board of the Dickinson Law Review in the position of Notes Editor. Mr. Reed earned a BA from George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia in 1999. His work experience also includes clerkships with the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division, and The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. Mr. Reed is a Member of the South Carolina Bar and the Virginia State Bar. Mr. Reed is admitted to practice in Federal Court in the Eastern District of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
Mr. Reed is an accomplished public speaker, having served as the captain of the policy debate team at George Mason University. In this capacity, he advanced to the semi-final round of the American Debate Association National Tournament. In high school, Mr. Reed won a Virginia state championship for debate, having also won the supporting regional and district competitions. He was recognized as one of the top 50 debaters in the country by Northwestern University. During his debate career, Mr. Reed won approximately 18 tournaments including those hosted by Princeton University, The University of Miami, and James Madison University. Mr. Reed is also an Eagle Scout.
