Jay Hewitt

Jay Hewitt is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. He graduated from Wake Forest University and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He has practiced law in Greenville for over 25 years, litigating cases in state and federal court all over South Carolina, as well as presenting oral arguments before the Supreme Court of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Richmond, Virginia.

Jay spent much of his legal career representing insurance companies defending motor vehicle, premises liability and mass tort injury cases. He understands how insurance companies analyze and settle claims and defend personal injury lawsuits. He has also tried multiple jury trials to verdict and understands how juries in South Carolina value cases. For several years, Jay has put that knowledge to work for injured parties in personal injury cases to get maximum value for clients.

Outside of work, Jay enjoys traveling with his family to national parks, the South Carolina mountains and beaches, and internationally. He also enjoys playing basketball, tennis, golf and cycling. Jay was also an elite Ironman triathlete, having competed on the US National Triathlon Team at the World Championships in both Europe and Australia.
