Derek E. Brown

Derek E. Brown was born in Anderson and raised in Iva, South Carolina. He is the son of Duane and Susan Brown who own and operate a cattle farm in his hometown of Iva. After completing Crescent High School, Derek graduated from Toccoa Falls College (B.A. History) where he was a starting pitcher and outfielder for the baseball team and interned for Congressman Paul Broun’s district office in Toccoa, Georgia. Derek went on to complete his legal education at Appalachian School of Law, (Juris Doctor) where he was elected Vice President of the Student Bar Association and served as the law school representative to the American Bar Association. During law school, Derek interned for the Solicitor’s office in Anderson and Greenwood Counties.

Prior to working for George Sink Injury Lawyers, Derek worked in general practice, gaining diverse experience in family law, criminal law, and personal injury.  Since joining George Sink, he has helped recover millions for his clients.  Notably, in 2020, Derek helped secure a settlement for an injured client for $1,020,000.00.

In 2023, Derek and his wife, Catalina welcomed a beautiful daughter, Isabella Grace.  They live in Anderson, South Carolina with their three dogs, Pippa, Theo, and Lucas.  When he isn’t spending time with his family and dogs, Derek enjoys playing golf, pickleball, and fly fishing for trout.
