Robert Emmet Treacy, Jr., the son of an English professor and a commercial fisherman, was born in Columbia and raised in Charleston. After attending Mason Prep School and Bishop England High School, Robert worked his way through the College of Charleston (B.A. 1993) and the University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D. 1996). Robert then earned a one-year judicial clerkship with a circuit court judge in Anderson, SC. Robert worked as a prosecutor with the Oconee County Solicitor’s office and was commended for his outstanding service from 1997-1999 before moving on to private practice in Anderson. Robert returned home to Charleston with his wife in 2002 when he joined our North Charleston office.
In 17 years of practice, Robert has handled thousands of cases, including difficult cases involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death. Robert has tried cases in all levels of South Carolina trial courts, the Workers’ Compensation Commission, the Social Security Administration and the Federal District Court. Robert has argued before the SC Supreme Court and has briefed appellate cases before the SC Court of Appeals.
Robert and his wife, Malinda, live on James Island in Charleston with their Jack Russell terrier. They enjoy boating, fishing, good food, and spending quality time with friends and family.
