A single-car wreck during a thunderstorm resulted in six race horses getting trapped inside a tractor-trailer. The collision happened along Interstate 95 while the big-rig was heading northbound and veered off the roadway about 10 miles from Walterboro. The truck was heading to a race, and two men and two cats were also inside the trailer. One received treatment for injuries, while all the horses sustained injuries. Visibility was severely reduced to only 100 feet. Some horses were trapped and rescue crews carefully pulled them from the wrecked vehicle.
