Patrick Scarlett grew up in Greenville, SC, where his parents taught him the value of helping others. Patrick’s mother spent her free time helping people learn to speak English while his father worked on projects that have changed the community for the better. Patrick attended the University of Notre Dame where he studied physics, was on the Fighting Irish rowing and water polo teams, and rooted for the football team on the weekends.
After four years in the Midwest, Patrick felt the call to return home, so he came back to attend law school and business school at the University of South Carolina. Patrick worked his way through graduate school as an intern at various law firms and other organizations and as a registered patent agent of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. While in law school, Patrick was a member of the ABA Real Property, Probate, and Trust Journal and the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. As part of his business school program, Patrick spent a semester studying Spanish at the University of Salamanca learning another skill that has helped him to help others. Patrick earned his M.B.A. and his J.D. with distinctions such as Order of the Wig and Robe, President’s List, and Cum Laude.
Patrick practices in our Columbia office in the areas of motor vehicle accidents, workers’ compensation, and social security disability. He is licensed to practice in both South Carolina and North Carolina. Patrick and his wife Catherine enjoy canoeing, rowing, bicycling, cooking, and politics on the weekends.
