Two state troopers were recognized for drunk driving enforcement. One officer completed 161 arrests in 2011 and was given the “Highway Patrol Trooper of the Year” award. Clemson University’s police department was also recognized for enforcing DUI laws. “We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Chief Johnson Link, in a statement. “We have worked hard in this area of enforcement and to be recognized for our efforts is very rewarding.” They made 66 arrests for DUI’s in 2011, and they started an Alive at 25 program which promotes safety amongst drivers under 25, according to news reports.
