For instance, a person was injured when a jet ski exploded and sank on Lake Hartwell in Oconee County, South Carolina, on Monday. Witnesses said they watched the jet ski traveling across the lake when it exploded. The rider was rescued from the lake by boaters and met by EMC at the Choestoea boat ramp. The rider was then transported to the hospital.
The cause of the explosion is being investigated by the Oconee Fire Department and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
