A fatal wreck occurred Wednesday night in Marion County. The wreck remains under investigation by South Carolina Highway patrol. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when he was hit around 6:21pm along US 76 in Marion County, outside Mullins. According to news reports, the 50-year-old was hit and killed instantly. The female driver did not remain at the scene of the wreck, but was later discovered by police authorities. Charges may be filed against the driver as South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the wreck.
