A 20-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck while walking along Interstate 26, according to the Lexington County Coroner’s office. The victim sustained massive body trauma when they were hit around 6:10am on Saturday close to the St. Andrews Road off-ramp. The pedestrian was walking on the roadway when he was hit by a car, then suddenly three more cars collided into him, said the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The collision remains under investigation by authorities, according to news reports.
