South Carolina Highway Patrol reported an increase in pedestrian fatalities. Troopers throughout the state are working to improve safety by cracking down on pedestrians who aren’t following traffic laws. The Greenville County Sheriff is working hard to protect its citizens in particular since pedestrian fatalities rose from five to ten during the same period in separate years. “We’re here to address the importance of pedestrian safety throughout the holiday and the coming year,” said the state patrol captain. “We are asking drivers and pedestrians alike to be familiar with our pedestrian laws and be vigilant for one another.” According to news reports, officers are on the look-our for pedestrians who may be intoxicated or walk into a roadway.
As an Orangeburg auto accident lawyer, I’m glad police are making an effort to improve pedestrian safety. I hope nobody else is harmed in a collision. If you or a loved one were harmed in a pedestrian crash, discuss your case with a personal injury attorney who can evaluate your case and help defend your rights, along with answer any important legal questions you may have regarding your claim. A personal injury lawyer can help guide you through your case by assisting you with the legal processes associated with your case in order to reach the best possible outcome for your claim.
