Ganz Recalls Dancing Teapots Due to Burn Hazard

By SinkLawAdmin on February 21, 2012

In view of the burn hazard posed by their teapots, the product manufacturer Ganz and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission have decided to recall approximately 2,100 units in the US and another 170 in Canada. The recall took effect immediately. Since it has been found that the handle of the teapot can get very hot when the pot contains hot water, there is a strong chance the product can result in burn injuries, hence the recall was put into effect. Although there have been no cases of injury reported so far, Ganz is urging consumers not to use the teapots until the company fixes the defect, according to news reports.
