Saturday morning, a 21-year-old drunk driver collided into a Columbia police vehicle, then hit a downtown building. He sustained injuries in the wreck and was treated for injuries at a nearby hospital before getting taken to a detention center. The incident happened around 7:30am when the suspect ran a red light and collided with the police vehicle. The driver then crashed into a restaurant downtown. The restaurant owner said they will re-open once damage is repaired.
