Choking Hazard Causes Teddy Bear Recall

By Personal Injury Lawyer on December 29, 2011

Around 284,000 Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears are being taken off the market in cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission due to a choking hazard. The product was sold in Build-A-Bear Workshops. As a Spartanburg personal injury lawyer, I hope everybody checks to see if they own this toy immediately to avoid any potential issues. The bear’s eyes may loosen and fall out, posing a serious choking hazard for children. As of now, no injuries have been reported. The product undergoing a recall is 16 inches high. The bears have multi-colored hearts all over their fabric, along with black plastic eyes. The recalled toy was sold across the country in Build-A-Bear workshops along with their website from April 2011 to December 2011 for approximately $18 each. Parents and caretakers are urged to take the teddy bear away from children and return it immediately. The company will give customers a voucher for a different stuffed bear, according to news reports. Those with any concerns regarding the recall may contact the company directly.

If you or someone you know was harmed by an unsafe product, discuss your case with a car accident lawyer who can evaluate your case, help assess your claim, and answer any legal questions you may have regarding your case. Consumers should hold companies liable for the safety of their products.
