A fiery collision in Columbia resulted in the deaths of two best friends and two roommates after celebrating a 23rd birthday. Two of the students succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the wreck, after their Dodge Charger crashed into an insurance building. They were celebrating a birthday at nearby bars just before the wreck. They left their final destination at 3:30am, and the crash happened at 5am when the driver lost control of the vehicle while heading down George Rogers Boulevard. The vehicle collided into the corner of the Farm Bureau Insurance Office then burst into flames. Police are still investigating the wreck and why the driver lost control of the vehicle. Preliminary investigations indicate the driver may have been speeding at the time of the collision. Toxicology reports will be released in the near future.
