Quality Bicycle Products are being recalled because of links to a falling hazard, according to news reports.
Bicycle carrier racks are being recalled because the rack’s mounting bracket can crack or break causing it to fall onto the bicycle’s front wheel posing a falling hazard to the rider, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Included in the recall is: Quality Bicycle Products “Civia Loring bicycle racks, with black aluminum tubing and bamboo panels, that mount to the bicycle’s front fork—the word “Civia” is printed on the rack’s side panels.”
The recalled racks were sold at independent bicycle stores nationwide from December 2009 through February 2011 for about $175 and were manufactured in Tawian, according to news reports.
